You Won't Die Laughing

Top level Hospitals Pinnaroo Hospital

On Monday evening April 14th approximately 80 people attended a night of fun and laughter in the Senior Citizens rooms in Pinnaroo. The evening was organised by the Mallee Health Service through a Drought assistance Grant from the SAFF.

Di Thornton with Patricia Cameron-Hill & Shane Yates
The evening featured Patricia Cameron-Hill and Shayne Yates who are well renowned in the field of stress and laughter management. Patricia and Shayne have produced 2 books titled “You wont die laughing” and “Doctor I feel funny”, and multiple videos about how to stay positive even in the tough times.
Patricia engaged the crowd from her first words and kept them laughing until the end. Patricia sent everyone away from the evening with 10 important tips for their health. The tips were:
  • You do not have to be a victim of stress
  • Thoughts, beliefs and words are powerful
  • There is a strong relationship between emotions and wellbeing
  • Getting into a good mood can be easier than you think
  • We owe it to others to be cheerful
  • Happy people are less stressed
  • Do the job you love, or love the job you do.
  • Work can be fun
  • Laughter is the greatest stress buster in the world
  • And everyone can boost their sense of humour.

A number of participants commented that it was a great evening and hope it would be repeated for those unfortunate to miss out.
