Karoonda & District Soldiers' Memorial Hospital is a 22 bed facility and was initially built in 1921.

Mallee Health Service—Karoonda

Centrally located within the township and providing health services to a town population of approximately 300 and a district population of 1400, Karoonda & District Soldiers Memorial Hospital is a twenty two-bed facility that includes eighteen aged care beds and four acute care beds.
Patient Service Attendants, Registered and Enrolled Nurses and aClinical Nurse Consultant coordinate the standard of patient care. Cooks, Housekeepers and Multi-skilled staff, supply catering and housekeeping services. A Maintenance Officer coordinates repairs and maintenance of equipment, and the grounds, while efficient and friendly office staff co-ordinate the Administration and Finance Departments.
Accident and Emergency operates 24 hours a day.
Kadistra Homes for the Aged isan eight bed, low care, aged facility (Semi-independent living Hostel).
Karoonda Local Advisory Committee:
Karoonda’s Local Advisory Committee consists of community, auxiliary and local council representatives who meet monthly, with Executive staff, to discuss community issues. If you wish to raise any issues please contact (08) 8579 1111 for further information.
Outreach Services
A very active Outreach Department whose services are available by contacting Mallee Community Health Services on 8576 4677 provides in home care for the aged, frail and disabled in the community over seven days a week. Respite services are offered for carers in the community via the Day Centre and also by providing residential respite care.

Auxiliary
The hospital has an active Auxiliary who are always busy raising funds for the hospital and welcome new members.
