A Cancer Support Group for sufferers in the Pinnaroo area is being planned by the Mallee Health Service.
|
Ms Claire Crane, Acting Manager, Mallee Community Health Services stated the group will help both male and females fighting cancer, their carers and supporters. People of any age suffering any type of cancer will be welcome.
“It’s for everyone including anyone caring for those with cancer,” she said “There are people who are willing to help even though their sufferer may have passed on. It helps with their grieving and loss as well. Once we have enough interest Sheridan Kulper, our Cancer Support Nurse will make arrangements for the first meeting.’’
The group has the support of the area’s Breast Cancer Group whose expertise Ms Crane said will be utilized well. Ms Crane also stated that Cancer Support Groups existed in Lameroo and Karoonda.
