EMERGENCY CARE AND FIRST AID FOR CHILDREN
On Thursday 24 May a group of 19 mothers from Lameroo were given an informative presentation on emergency and first aid care for children. The session was presented by Ms Tina Bolto, Regional Training Officer, SA Ambulance Service.

Tina spoke on topics including bites, allergies, choking, bleeding, fits and fevers. She also gave a demonstration of CPR and spoke on car safety. Tina explained what happens when you ring 000 for an ambulance and why this is often the best way of transporting sick or injured children.
All mothers’ present showed enormous interest in the topics presented and had a lot of questions for Tina over a shared luncheon.
Due to the success of this session a repeat, evening presentation, for fathers, is being organised for the near future. Please contact Ms Jane Toogood, Community Midwife, Mallee Community Health Services (08 8576 4677) for more information.
