We are located on Route B55, 150km east of Adelaide, in the Murray Mallee in the eastern half of SA.
The township of Karoonda, proclaimed on 11th December, 1911 is the district's major service centre for the surrounding agricultural community.

The Geranium Community Library is a depot of the Lameroo Community Library and is located in the Geranium Primary School as it is a joint use school and public library. Pinnaroo Primary School has large open space classrooms which house multi-year level classes-R/1/2, 3/4, 5/6/7.
